Darksiders: From imitation to homage

StickSkills said, "It’s nearly impossible to explain an entertainment product without some sort of comparison. Any given action flick may be best described as a clone of Die Hard, an indie rock band might produce a cord that’s oddly familiar to something from a Smashing Pumpkins song and a modern-day platformer will probably wear its Super Mario Bros. inspirations on its sleeves. However, there’s a fine line between cheap imitation and a loving homage." (Darksiders 2, Industry, PC, PS3, Vigil Games, Xbox 360)

good game
I just want to say that I really really like the games and hope they keep it going. To say the game borrows from other more popular titles is fare, but I've enjoyed darksiders for taking a lot of the gameplay of past said titles and wrapping it up into a more "mature" package. Playing as War or Death to me is much more appealing than playing as link yet again. Kudos. Both of these games are well worth playing.

I'm really hoping they do a couple more, but seeing the sales of Darksiders 2 I don't think it'll happen. Especially with the shape THQ is in.
