Michael! Franklin! Trevor! Bank heists! Scuba diving! Dynamic missions! All the info from today's huge GTA 5 blowout!
(Grand Theft Auto V, PS3, Xbox 360)
Wonder how this work on the Xbox 360, will that version have two discs where you have to install one of them. I mean L.A Nore was pretty big and that was 2 discs.
Really not liking the sound of three characters, rather just play as the one. I know you can since you can switch but apparently each one will have things like activites unique to them.

Thats a GOOD thing. It adds to the replayability of the game. Three unique protagonists = three unique campaigns. If you want to play as just one character, the choice to do that is still given to you.
R* has just solidify themselves as the best developers ever in the history of gaming in my eyes, with Kojima and Naughty Dog following behind them respectively.
GTA5 is very ambitious. I can't wait to see how they pull all of this stuff off. I'm a bit disappointed that you can't purchase property, but that's trivial compared to all the features GTAV contains.
i was not happy to read it was more than one playble character at first. but with the example of the helicopter chase that you can choose if u gonna fly the it snipe out of it of use the character with the assault rifle to take out ur enemies. i can see what possibilities it offers and have actaully high hopes for it.
i dont believe the amount of spoken text will be suffering by it (by having three protagonists). if i look at GTA 4 how much text there is in that game is just crazy (rockstar have always did much with that in gta).
then the part of the world that they create even to specific sigarets brands textures for in the store. and that they took over a quarter milion pics of LA and many hours of video footage.
i can believe this GTA deserves a new number in the franchise in place of gtaIV: Los santos or something like that.
they made me a believer of its greatness. now i only have to wait for the new trailer and i dont have to see anything anymore till release. only downside was the that the melee doesnt sound that much improved and that the subject of animals was not really touched. except from a dog behind the fence. i would like to know if there were more animals in the game but that wouldnt be a game breaker if they were not.
You sir did read that and there are under water stuff now in GTA 5? Damn no wonder ts taking them 5 years to go from GTA 4 to GTA 5. RS take heir time to make excellent games
Can't wait day one already pre ordered. Now just waiting for a collectors edition announcement
PS: this may never happen but I will always look for GTA HD collection
I hope it surpasses San Andreas that's the game they need to beat. Sucks about not being able to customize our character. I remember my fat goldilocks CJ.
This time is more focus on Los Santos "Los Angeles" rather than a mix of San Fierro "San Francisco" and Las Venturas "Las Vegas", i see this as a good thing since this mean they will use San Fierro and Las Venturas as a unique city a bigger one for another game or maybe a expack.
I know. This was a big letdown for me as well. But they did mention they're working on some other "economic" aspects of the game. I'm curious what those are.
You couldn't buy property in GTA IV but there were still a lot of buildings you could enter and "safe houses" you could unlock, so I imagine they'll have similar features in GTA V.
I'm just curious how they're gonna fit this on the Xbox 360?
Different disc for each character campaign? Areas are broken down by disc? Multiplayer on a separate disc? Really curious about this.
lol, believe it or not, having to deal with multiple discs is something to be expected these days, on 360.
LA Noire had, what?, 3 discs.
Halo 4 has improved on the issue greatly. Once you install the 2nd disc, you no longer are required to swap, at all.
I imagine GTA will have 2 discs. With possibly the latter locations on the second disc. Considering that people will want to travel between locations without swapping, R* better implement a similar install+discard method like 343i has managed.
Otherwise, it may be split SP on one disc, and MP on another. Not exactly the end of the world.
And, to your original comment about properties. I hated how in IV you "unlocked" safehouses, and there was extremely littt choice, if at all, of which ones you got. In San Andreas, I LOVED saving up money, and deciding which house I wanted, and whether I'd save up for the one with two garages, or the one by the beach, ect.
"I'm just curious how they're gonna fit this on the Xbox 360? "
Well let just say if Bethesda knows a way to compress their games to an absolute 3gb skyrim on the 360, yes GTA5 can fit on one disc, LA Noire was much more than a big city, that facials animation is probably the biggest deal.
I know Beth doesn't want anyone to know how to compress that way tho.
Bah I was really looking forward to properties... I really hope there's stuff to do with the money you accumulate in the game. Properties in San Andreas felt strategic, and they made you feel like you actually lived in the city.
I hope something like buying strip clubs and stuff is in? And engaging yourself in businesses like that... And then giving you a reason to actually have money would be nice.
And your MILLIONS of dollars are intended for guns+ammo (after dying,or arrested) and paint jobs.
I hated how the money in IV was for Guns+Ammo only. STUPID. Any really dedicated player is going to reload a checkpoint after being arrested, or killed. So then we get left with $,$$$,$$$ to use for nothing!
Did you see why they had to remove the SA customization?
It's because of the physics and animation system for the characters.
You could still have SA style character customization but they've had to remove the procedural animation system and remove a lot of character physics as well. That's a lot of steps back just so people can get skinny or fat.
They didn't mention anything about stat growth, just that you won't be able to physically change or did they mention somewhere that there won't be stat growth?
They mentioned you can't change physically for obvious technical reasons but they didn't mention anything about not being able to build a character in other ways.
From the sound of it, though, there will still be RPG-like features given that there are triathlons, workout and yoga mini-games as well as a few other things. There's still a lot we don't know about the game, but so far it sounds like the best of both GTA: SA with all the technical advancements of GTA IV
I wonder if since the other 2 characters go about their normal life when not switched to is that if we can run into them on the streets or something. That would be great.
I would be fine with that. I loved GTA4 though. Just the physics in that game were enough to keep me playing. I can't tell you how many times I shot someone in the leg just to watch them drag it around for a while before I put another one in his shoulder to watch him fall backwards. I loved how realistic people would tumble down the street after being hit by a car. I just wish it had a halo like video capture system in these games. You could capture some shit on GTA. The last thing I'll mention I really loved about GTA4 was how chaotic MP could get. I remember watching this guy & a helicopter shooting at each other right in front of me just as another player mows him down in a car. I thought it was great.
Love that it's back to San Andreas, that one on PS2 was my favorite, such a huge map. And since this one's size is bigger than the past 3 rockstar open worlds COMBINED, this is definitely going to be a day 1 purchase for me, even if 3 playable switchable characters sounds a bit strange
Now - We are looking for awesome people who are interested in testing the new N4G and other new services that are set to launch later this year. | Promoted post

very disappointed with tho :/
Yup you read it right. There Including the ocean floor, interiors and the wilderness and wine country. They also added "With room to spare!"
at least the Desert Remains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mystery hunting here i come!!!
Do they mean stores/business, or even houses?
I thought they said we could buy property!!!!

" San Andreas' RPG-like player customization is still absent"
And the fact that you can't recruit a squad makes this game very boring and shallow for me. No depth at all.

What?! It sounds like there'll be a shit-ton of stuff to do in this game and you think it'll have no depth?
Funniest thing that happens with the physics engine they did for GTA4 was when my motorcycle flipped and it crushed me.
I mean this when you are off missions... can you drive to there house and just watch them doing things ?
