In Japan, There’s Halo 4 with Hard Gay

Kotaku - Japanese comedian Hard Gay, who is hardly gay, was roped in by Microsoft Japan to promote Halo 4 at a recent event in Tokyo.

While Hard Gay, whose real name is Masaki Sumitani, hit it big in Japan back in 2005, he hasn't appeared that much on television of late, save for the occasional appearance here and there.

The story is too old to be commented.

Just one of the many wonders of Japan lol!

Yi-Long1632d ago

... he's got some really funny videos.

Wooooooooooooooo!!!! :)

dredgewalker1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

Agreed lol, it's actually hilarious that he's straight and has a wife. I've been watching a lot of japanese shows since I was little so there's little that surprises me about the japanese culture.

Edit: It's not Wooooo!, it's actually Hoooooo! :P

"Agreed lol, it's actually hilarious that he's straight and has a wife."

And that he is an ex-wrestler. And he's just all around awesome.

Of all things.... Microsoft!

The words "Gay" & "Halo" should never be near each other or lots of gamers hear on N4G will be pissed.

Hard gay is a hilarious persona! I love that you can make fun of things that seemingly is taboo, and yet is generally accepted. I don't think something like that would be as accepting in other parts of the world.

He also appeared in a Valhalla Game Studios promoting Devil's Third.

Fullmetalevolust1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

Hard-o gay fooooooooooooooooooh!!! He is hilarious! A real legend in Japan, hopefully I bump into him when I'm visiting. He makes the japanese very uncomfortable with his "out-going" personality.

Jinkies1632d ago

onyoursistersback1632d ago

"Koreans currently constitute the second largest ethnic group in Japan you know"

I thought it was the Chinese? They even have a China Town in Japan!

nukeitall1631d ago

A lot of Chinese people don't like Japanese due to the invasion. Chinese people hold a long grudge and one of the reason why American cars actually sell in China!

Machioto1632d ago (Edited 1632d ago )

Yeah, I suppose Psy would appeal to all those kids who think he is cool.

For me personally, and many other rationally thinking people, Psy is a douche, who has no place in gaming. If only to appease those that are still in school, playing military shooters all day.

Pozzle1631d ago

Why is Psy a douche? I don't know much about the guy so I could be completely wrong, but he seems to be a pretty nice guy from what I've seen in interviews.

And he doesn't have much to do with gaming, but his involvement in a game wouldn't be any stranger than the countless other Asian singers who have either appeared in games before or promoted them at events (e.g. Gackt, AKB48, Ayumi Hamasaki, Girls' Generation, etc)
