Sky News review: Burnout Paradise

Somebody should check what's going into the tea and coffee at Guildford-based games developer Criterion Games.

Not only does the developer continue to produce racing games so fast they make you feel like you need a good sit down afterwards, it is also somehow releasing new versions at an impressive rate, with no apparent reduction in either quality or creativity.

Essentially Burnout 5, Paradise turns the series on its head, replacing the traditional racing game structure of menus and staged races with a large and totally believable virtual city (called Paradise City, of course) which can be explored at the player's leisure - though certainly not at a leisurely pace.
