Too late in the console cycle to introduce new IPs? 'That's bullsh*t', says Koch

Claims suggesting that it is too late in the console cycle to introduce new IPs are "bullsh*t", Koch Media CEO Klemens Kundratitz has said. (Dead Island, Dead Island Riptide, Industry, PS3, Xbox 360)

Its the best time , theres 100 million plus posible buyers that can buy there HD games on ps360 and another 100 millon that can Buy there games on the wii if there not too graphically intensive.!!

That's what i also don't understand when people or publishers say is better to bring new IP's when console life starts why? right now ps3 and xbox360 are between 65-70 million each and wii is at 96 million with wii-u launching now is the best time to make new Ip's IMO because if the game is great the possible return on it can be a lot more than when new systems launch and have much smaller install bases

when new systems launch publishers release games with bugs and stuff but because those are new games many people over look those things well if you make a new IP which is good not great than don't expect every single gamer to buy it, its that simple

IMO when systems launch people have low expections so publisher take chances and even if the first game isn't all that sequels will improve on the formula look at gears of war 1 to gears of war 3 huge difference and many small and major tweaks along the way. with new systems in a way publishers get a free pass because everyone says the same thing oh its new tech so they are learning well you can not make that excuse into this gen. so that's why publishers want to make new IP's for new systems

last of us and beyond 2 souls will both do well and watch dogs along with remember me should also do quite well granted if games have the quality people are use to by now

Games like tony hawk or stuntman were made in between gens on the tony tawk ps1 and ps2 and stuntman ignition ps2 and ps3 . . I Think WatchDogs should be made on the PS360 and PS4, Xbox Infinity it seems to be on the very edge of what these systems are capable of. Sort of How Sony Said After a Game is Released on the PS3 it is possible to port it over with slight minor downgrades to work on the Vita... It would be the best way to test the waters of a new i.P. Without taking a huge risk
