FanCensus says: "Nintendo Japan has revealed it’s digital line-up for full retail title as well as the size of both it’s first party launches New Super Mario Bros U and Nintendo Land."
NSMBU: More than 2GB of free space required. Nintendo Land: More than 3.2GB of free space required If the downloadable versions were cheaper I'd consider them but considering these will be arriving with my Wii U, there's no advantage to downloading these... I'll actually have them faster in physical form. Maybe in future I'll grab some full price games via the eShop - although I would like them to be either cheaper or for me to be allowed to resell them.
i feel the only advantage to the dl games will be nintendos 5% cash back on all digital sales for those who purchase a deluxe wii u
I'm fine with getting back 5% on WiiUWare stuff (I'm sure I'll be buying quite a lot too) but 5% doesn't really sweeten the deal much when I have the choice of a download I can't trade compared to a physical disk that I can.
It's 10%....you get 500 points ($5) for every $50 you spend.
oops, my bad, i apologize.....10%
I just wish nintendo would give us the option to pre-order digital downloads and on launch date at midnight it would start downloading (or whenever you want it to). It would help with the longer download times.
Well it is more than 10 percent as you also probably don't have to pay sales tax, shipping (or gas). With a decent connection like 12-25 mbps, you could get these games faster than a ride to gamestop/other. So if you get a 60 dollar game (with the 5 dollar thing from a previous purchase), you'll be most likely getting it for $55, which is cheaper than say $66-67 at a local gamestop or if you have to pay tax and shipping, about 68-69. So it can save you some money. Plus never have to worry about a scratched disc, because even if your HD crashes, you should be able to re-download it like other services. So it's just HD space. But over 2 gb and over 3.2 gb isn't that bad. Be interesting to see say CoD Black Ops 2 file size. I expected these to be moderately small. But games like BLOPS2 or even better Assassin's Creed 3 would be more revealing.
