Valve and EA: A Look at Two Very Different Organizations

GameDynamo - "In all the games industry, no two organizations are more divergent than Electronic Arts and Valve. To even the most casual of observers, it appears as though the two businesses have completely different faces, completely different attitudes towards their consumers, and completely different business methods. Today, we're going to take a closer look at those methods - and exactly how one differs from the other. " (Culture, Dev, EA, Industry, Valve)

Valve treats the gaming community much better in my opinion..EA just wants to please their share holders at all cost....

That is the difference right there. Valve is a business, just like EA, but they know how to treat their customers and actually listen to them.

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't believe Valve has any shareholders to keep happy. That to me would be the biggest reason why they do business differently.

This is a B.S. article. Comparing these two is like apples to oranges. Valve is mainly a developer and small-time publisher, while EA is a huge entertainment publisher and distributer. Of course they will have different buisness practices.

I don't think the author knows that hard copies of Valve games are distributed by EA either.
