AVerMedia's Game Capture HD now records 1080p footage

Digital multimedia company AVerMedia Technologies has released a software update for its Game Capture HD standalone HD video capture device. The update implements support for 1080p video at 60 fps. According to the company, this makes the Game Capture HD the first standalone game video capture device in the industry which brings full frame rate progressive video game play.

Unless the software update gets around HDCP, you still can't capture from consoles in 1080p 60fps. Well the PS3 at least. I don't think Xbox has it enabled.

i thought hdcp was for digital interface ie hdmi and dvi.

game capture only uses component which circumvents that iirc.

Wow 1080p @ 60fps? That sure is the first device to do this, I have a Hauppauge HD-PVR Gaming Edition and Elgato Game Capture HD...and they can only do 1080p @ 30fps. I think I will get this.
