Halo 4: 10 Reasons It’s The Best Halo Yet

WC - Halo 4, easily one of the most anticipated games of the year, finally hits shelves today, and fans worldwide can relax safe in the knowledge that it’s not only an excellent game, not only is it one of the best games of the year, but it’s also the best game in the Halo franchise, serving up more nuanced thrills than ever before, while taking the multiplayer offering to a more accessible and intricate dimension. Though Black Ops 2 drops in one week’s time, it is going to need to boast some serious fire-power to drag us away from what is a stunningly comprehensive and thrilling game, assuring us that the future of the series is in safe hands at 343 Industries.

I'd say its on par with CE. It is definitely a step in the right direction. It still feels like halo but has a fresh coat of paint and steel framing. Everything is done right and perfect. It's an amazing experience.

I can't believe this is even being discussed, so what if it's not the BEST halo! Even if it's got the lowest average halo4 is still a good game!

It's a great game. I just wished people would stop trying to rank it and just let it be a great game. It's a Halo game, so it doesn't have the same impact as other games in the franchise. CE was the first, Halo 2's multiplayer was revolutionary and Halo 3 had such launch hype and spectacle to solidify Microsoft as a competitor this gen. Halo 4 just wont have the impact of those titles.

I have almost finished the single player campaign and hands down this is the best Halo yet.

I think I am enjoying it the most because the online is really fun, and the campaign was deep, personal and really explored Cortana and Chief. The other games didn't really do that.

Also, even though its not huge on the list, this is the best looking Halo game hands down, stunning. Its the HD Halo game that I always envisioned with this generation.

All Halo 4 copies came with a 2 week Gold Membership, so you could at least give it a whirl. I think there are some cheaper XBL Gold Memberships online as well, I picked one up for $35 off Amazon a few months ago, I usually wont go over that price for Live.

To me, a game like Halo needs to be played online, there is just so much content there. Seems like you'd be missing out a bit on the largest part of the game, although the campaign was fun as well.

I honestly think Halo 4 sports the best Halo story and has great characters.

That sense of awe from halo ce is also back- just looking up at the pillars from the sky for the first time as they move up and down (they even cast their own dark shadows on the clouds next to them).

So far I'm 4 levels in and I'd happily state that this is easily NOT the worst of the Halo games. It's as if 343 understands their sandbox in a way Bungie had forgotten slightly. Fresh and fun in a way I've not felt in a quite this way for a while. Bloody challenging too but in an entertaining. Halo1 is really where it's always been for me but this is doing everything right so far that I may even proclaim this it's equal by the end of it all- and that's something I'd never say of the excellent but never truly astonishing Bungie's sequels

Very surprised how well 343 have done here but they've certainly earned people's trust now I think and I eagerly await Halo5

I am about half way through the campaign. My Wife is making me stop so we can play coop together. But so far i am so impressed. To be honest i was a little nervous about the game and 343. I am so impressed at this point and excited for the Wife to get home and finish this. Even the MP is awesome so far and i was extremely skeptical about it.

Just got it an hour ago, played the first 45 minutes of the campaign and it is AWESOME.
