Online Gaming Manuels, The End Of The Paper Trail?

Darksiders 2 is a great game. Loads of shit to do, tons of weapons and armour to equip and a really compelling story to keep it all together.

One problem though; no manual. So upon getting the game and being devoid of the internet due to moving into a new place.

What does this item do? How do you get this to work? Where is this thing in the menu? All questions left unanswered, because THQ are part of the increasing band of publishers trying to do away with the traditional paper manual. Saving the environment? Yeah, right… (Assassin's Creed, Culture, Darksiders 2, PS3, Xbox 360)

I hope not though this gen there has been a lot less cool manuals that come with the game. It used to be colourful and cleverly designed but not it is te bare minimum black and white usually :(

all the ps vita game manuals are digitals and im ok with it, sure its always nice to see a full color manual...BUT how many time will you look at it?

The majority of publishers couldn't care less about the environment, they just wanna save costs.

I don't mind digital manuals but something should fill that lonely space inside a game box, art cards, Discounts for other related items, anything.

One of my big irks too.

So you can't produce a game manual as you're "saving the environment" (no you're not, you're simply more concerned with keeping your overheads low and increasing your profit margin. I notice the retail price doesn't drop for us though...funny that) but you can produce a useless 4 page warranty slip that nobody ever reads anyway.

Why can't publishers simply print the control layout on the backside of the games cover? Then everyone would be happy.

I'm obviously in the wrong job.

Glad to see other people miss manuals as well. Though I was just getting old and nostalgic.

yeah seriosly the whole manuals ar eonline crap is total bs. if they really were concerned fro the environment the game box would not be made of plastic. i dont care how easy it is. make it out of styrofaom so after i put my disc in the disc slots in those old disc books. i can recycle the game box if u really care about savign the environment. no paper manuals so the enviro is safe but a plastic case is till the norm. plz go beg the next moron to believe that shit. this si why thq sucks all their policies are concerned on doing outright dumb shit. this is why they will go under. . you want your comapany to survive? then follow the golden rule do unto others as you want them to do unto you. so if i want a manual and u want more money how are either of us going to get what we want when the one who is in power doesnt wanna make a good deal?
