With the success of Forza Horizon redefining it’s namesake, thumbACTIVE ask whether there is still a place for Forza Motorsport 4 in your collection?
While sharing a graphics and physics engine, they are completely different games and I am loving them both although I am getting a bit bored of forza 4 now
Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2 on the Xbox 720.. Just looking at what Turn 10 and Playground pulled off this year..it's freaking crazy to think about the prospect of what they will pull off next gen. Just like NFS: shift and the main series exists so can 2 forza titles. Evil
I believe they can. If Microsoft buy Playground and maybe drop the Forza name from the horizon title as to not fatigue the brand name.
Have it be the new PGR. Isn't funny how the "shooter console" has the highest rated exclusive racing games? PGR and Forza. Quality > Everything else
I agree they can both coexist but i think it should keep the forza names as they use the forza tech. I also think playground and turn10 would both help each other make each others games better even though the two games are different. I am a big pgr fan i still have 1 2 3 n 4 as well as MSR on my dreamcast bur if im honest i think this is the better game and direction to go. I also agree with you about the 360 being the number one shooter console but in Forza 4 horizon and pgr they have the high exclusive car games on all 3 consoles and the reason i got my ps3 was for gt5 that i felt very let down with. If only the European market would see what forza is about as they would love it. Im still a gt fan but forza 3 n 4 and now horizon are game that keep me going back to them 12 months after they have been released because of the community it has. This is what lets gt5 dirt grid ect down. The ps3 fan boys can hate forza all they want but for me if your a car fan and a fan of the gt games then forza should also be a game thats in your collection.
MS should buy Playground and give them there own office with a high budget to build there own open world engine. I would like to see a game that has the physics and graphics like Forza and the open world sand box like GTA 5.
Forza Motorsport is a good series, but Forza Horizon is junk, and a horribly butchered, watered down excuse for a game that only uses the Forza brand name to shift extra copies to people who don't know better. The physics are in no way comparable to Forza Motorsport, regardless of PR nonsense, and the game runs at a flimsy 30fps, screws loyal fans over with the DLC and is terrible in pretty much every regard. Still, if people enjoy it and want to pay for it that's up to them, but I and plenty of other Forza faithfuls found the demo for Horizon to be absolutely crap. They should have called it something else, since attaching the Forza name is advertising it as something it's not.
Horizon is more like a spiritual successor to PGR, it's not suppose to play like Forza Motorsport.
The reason it only goes on 30fps is because it's open world and you can drive anywhere unlike Forza 4 that has set track lines. Both games are good and enjoy both.
Absolutely, I don't see why they cannot coexist. I have to admit, I'm a huge Motorsport fan, but Horizon has quickly become my favorite racing game. I think its because I would get bored around season 4 or 5 with the Motorsport series, where as you drive yourself to events and the diversity of Horizon makes for a more fun experience.
To mention it, it is kinda of weird to have two arcade racers on the market at the same time. gamertag is HueyNewton2010.
I just purchased Forza 4 (and love it). I'm really interested in Horizon after playing the demo, but I felt that Forza 4 was the strong choice (as far as replayability and the better sim). I have a few buddies who only play Forza 4 and now they are on to the Horizon fix. They keep telling me to pick it up and after the demo I've been looking forward to a nice Black Friday sale where I will snatch it up for half price (if I'm lucky).
UM...YES...DUH... Next article: Can Super Mario and Mario Party coexist?
The article isnt about whether they can physically exist together that much is obvious, its more about whether owning both is viable.
