PlayStation Plus Update: RE5 Gold Edition Free for Plus, Portal 2 Discounted, More

Oh hey, November. Almost didn’t see you there with all of your fall colors, national holidays, and general autumn revelry. While the temperature may be dropping, Plus is getting ready to deliver some great content. We’re happy to kick off this month with Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, free for PlayStation Plus members! I beat 5...didnt like it, but i forced myself through it. It was so bad i didnt even CONSIDER playing 6.

Its still a fun co op game from what I hear, even if the game itself isn't as good as 4.

It wasnt too bad.. Just real arcady.. The series went to sh*t.. little to no puzzles, no incentives to backtrack & unlock doors you couldnt access early on, & virtually infinite ammo by smashing boxes.. U can just run around blasting ppl with whatever u want without consequence of losing precious ammo.. Health is too abundant too

I beat it 2x w my cousins & it was fun but the essence of what made RE so great has diminished long ago

I loved RE5. I thought it was a fantastic game that absolutely nailed the co-op when playing split screen. Sure it wasn't a great Resident Evil game, but it was a fantastic action title with Resident Evil flare. If I didn't have so many games currently in my backlog, I'd dive right back into this game to give it another play thru. An absolute blast.

I downloaded it, I was going to play the dlc, but my Res5 game save was on my old dead PS3, id need to play through most of the game again before it unlocked

Screw that, I deleted it, one of the worst games ive played this gen, a buddy of mine said the mansion dlc wasnt actually that bad, so i thought as its free i might aswel give it ago

Its not free for me because i have to battle through sheer boredom to get there

darkride66 the game was crap and its the worst in the series...leon campaign from RE6 which is a terrible game OWN the whole whole RE5 game

your taste for gaming are simply horrible...no wonder they turn all the classics to P.O.S like game you mention....to appeal the mass casuals like you.

Best way to play is online co-op with a friend, and use a Move controller. Seriously, most fun I've ever had with a Resident Evil game. I don't care what anyone else says; if they haven't played it this way then they don't know what they are missing.

It's a fun game with a friend if you ignore the fact that it's an RE game, certain aspects have aged rather poorly tho controls/inventory system especially can be a pain.

This game is amazing with the Move! I couldn't play it with the standard controller afterwards. It just feels so good with the device.

I hear you. Playing RE5 online with the Move and sniping everything with the magnum while my buddy is complaining that I don't let him kill anything is hilarious. It actually made the game much more fun.

Glad some others agree; solo with standard controller is like an 7 or 8/10, online co-op with move is like a 9.5/10.

I actually got RE5 Gold free from Gamestop. I ordered Portal 2 used and they sent me RE5 Gold. After they apologized they instructed me to wait for Portal 2 to be delivered and then to discard the unwanted merchandise once I had confirmed the correct order had been shipped.

Damn quit giving me games i already own. They should give a choice between a couple. Oh well. Its a damn good game despite what people say. Only things i dislike are the enemies with guns and constant knockdowns. Gets frustrating on later levels. Otherwise the game is great and is RE despite people saying its a good game just not RE. I still need to finish the dlc episodes.

I have thoroughly enjoyed many of the games that Sony's Playstation Plus subscription program has brought to my Playstation 3 console.

It has been a great value, so much so that I've had to replace my hard drive, as it was becoing the limiting factor of the value I could get out of the Playstation Plus program.

If anyone in the gaming civilization of Sony's Playstation 3 doesn't have a Playstation Plus subscription, I highly recommend it.
