GOTY edition of the first game is cheap these days, think I paid £13 for it.
Most of the issues with it have been addressed and ive not had more fun lopping limbs off zombies in any other game on ps3/xbox. Definately worth a look.
I was let down majorly, the replay value sucks, the story was superb, and the level design was spot on, especially that jungle, and the hotel, but once you pass the story once, theres nothing to do but start over, it got boring right after...such a shame, looked very interesting at first, ill be renting this one just to see if its the same.
Replay value is fine, weapons scale with your level and theres no way you would reach the level cap on your first loop.
On top of that theres your skill tree that you would barely scratch on a single play through, i'm on my 3rd loop so i'm almost done. Think the key to replay value is having friends with you in co-op. Single player is much the same as anything and will grind on you eventually.
Found the game to play much like Borderlands. Without friends it quickly becomes monotonous and boring, even with the fun melee system. Although, it looks as if from the screenshots that they are putting much more emphasis on guns this time around? Will wait to see how this one does when it releases, as I have a feeling it is going to be more of the same.
