I still desire external volume controls. And it's been a long time since you've been asked to pay $500 for a 30-ish GB iPod. But the inclusion of Mail, Stocks, Maps, Weather and Notes has transformed the iPod Touch. Now, not only is it a solid and attractive portable media player, but, finally, it's a darned fine Internet communications device as well."
