Gran Turismo's Engine Sounds, Drag Racing, the DeltaWing, & More: GTPlanet's Kazunori Interview
Kazunori Yamauchi hints at his future plans for the Gran Turismo series, while addressing frequent complaints and questions about GT5.
(Dev, Gran Turismo 5, Gran Turismo 6, Next-Gen, PS3)
He's going to talk about GT & about everything it will do or what he has planned. But the kicker is we will have to wait six years for it like we did last, here's an idea make the game first then tell us about later.
It shouldn't take as long to make six since they already have their game engine running on the PS3. I imagine it will be the same as when we waited all that time for Killzone 2, hope so anyways.
Well they're a busy dev studio, it's not like they sit around twiddling their thumbs.
Gran Turismo 4: 2005 Tourist Trophy: 2006 Gran Turismo HD: 2006 Gran Turismo 5 Prologue: 2007 Gran Turismo PSP: 2009 Gran Turismo 5: 2010
In five years they release six different games for three different consoles. When you take into account that they were new to two of those consoles and had to start from scratch developing a new engine for each of them, nevermind the gigantic amount of new features and content, I'd argue that it's very impressive just how much they accomplished in a five year period. Pretty cool that they found the time to develop a motorbike sim amongst all of that as well, I think.
Kazunori Yamauchi hints at his future plans for the Gran Turismo series, seeing how GT5 was the last one. where do you think these ideas or concepts even these engine mods are going to be used on. GT6 is my guess seeing as how they are no longer updating GT5 So much.
I really want Kaz & PD to make a video of their sound capture process to finally shut some of these people up.
I agree that when PD records the sounds in raw form but does not do any post production to enhance them. They believe leaving them as is is the best way to go.
Gt5 is the most boring racing game of all, with syntetic car sounds, extremly odd hood cam on many cars and no sens of speed when driving with cockpit cam. The only thing thats god about that game is the driving physics and grafics.
GT5 Changed My Life..BUT One thing I don't like about GT5 is the Standar Cars, IMO Gran Turismo 5 really is, without a doubt, the best Racing game on the market

What the ****? He didn't even mention GT6!
So that's what's wrong with GTs engine sounds, they are too realistic..................... .....hahahahahahahahaha
Seen a lot of comments on GTPlanet taking the mickey out of that statement too.
