Assassin's Creed III Review | bagofgames.com

Even though the Assassin’s Creed games are some of the most tedious I have ever played, the fifth installment, while keeping the game play style consistent with its predecessors, adds extra features in an attempt to create a larger and more engaging world.

This time around, you’re not playing as boring Altair or Ezio “Mama Mia!” Auditore. For the majority of Assassin’s Creed III, you follow the journey of the half Native American Ratonhnhaké:ton, nicknamed Connor ‘cause you gotta give the voice actors a break

The fact that you're no good at playing a game shouldn't be a reason to look at it in a completely subjective manner and give it score that it simply doesn't deserve...

And why did this guy even review the game if he clearly has such contempt for the entire AC series? O_o

Stretch1356d ago

Because it's a game. And I review games. I didn't let my disdain for the series get in the way of my thoughts.

I gave Spec Ops: The Line an 8.4, even though I've NEVER played and probably never will another Spec Ops game.

I review a game based on its own merits, nothing more.

I agree completely with this guy's review.

I think that AC 3 has a lot of problems, but it also has a lot to do.

This game is a lot of fun so far what I've played, I do feel that maybe ubisoft should have worked less on how large the game is and work on pacing and story telling a little more. I feel a bit lost in the story with how much there is to do.it all becomes a bit overwhelming. For me if the bugs were fixed, the sorry telling was a bit more fluid and the game was a little easier to understand it would be a 10/10. But for me so far its a 7.5-8/10

To be fair, I think the story in AC2 was just as thick. It took me a while to comprehend exactly what I was doing most of the time...

This reviewer obviously sucks at this game and is just a hater.

He downscores the game because he's not a person who likes doing side activities/collecting stuff etc. Guess what dude. they are OPTIONAL but don't downgrade a game for that as negative.

At first it was kind of tedious having to play an 'Epilogue' style tutorial until Sequence 6, but now that I am finally Connor, I have forgotten all about it.

I haven't really ran into any bugs so far. I assume they happen after Sequence 6.

Right now I give this game a 8/10, but now that I am about to begin the fun part (play as Connor, collectibles, hunting, side missions etc) - It may raise the score to 9 or 9.5/10

Note to reviewer : Quit reviewing games if you can't review them properly.

Stretch1356d ago

Yes, they are optional, and I had NO desire to do any of them after the first few.

I didn't have this issue with Borderlands 1 and 2, Skyrim, Oblivion, Mass Effect 1,2 and 3, KOTOR 1 and 2, Heroes of Might and Magic 3,4 and 5, Titan Quest, Fable 2 and many others.

So, what makes Assassin's Creed III immune to this criticism?
