10 Scariest Monsters in Gaming History

PP writes:

The gaming world is littered with monsters big and small, timid and fierce, and with Halloween coming up, it only seems logical to begin thinking of the best monsters ever featured in video games. It’s difficult to classify many video game monsters, because some are so unique that they don’t exactly have a creature type to easily determine and classify them as. Although monsters can come in plenty of shapes and sizes, the best monsters are memorable above all else. They can either be so menacing and grotesque to look at that you actually fear having to face the enemy with your in-game items, or they could simply provide an entertaining fight that challenges you while producing a big payoff that will have you remembering the encounter for years to come. That’s why these are the Top 10 Monsters in Gaming History. (BioShock, Castlevania, PC, PS3, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Silent Hill 2, The Legend of Zelda, Wii, Xbox 360)

Pyramid head but the SH2 version, the movie version is not scary at all.

When I was a kid, I was scared of Ghosts and Goblins because it had Satan as the lead enemy, and Satan was scary to me. It's funny now, but I had been indoctrinated at a young age and Satan was the scariest thing to me... It was like a guilty pleasure to play the game because I was messing with the devil... now I want to go and play some Ghosts and Goblins.

The gatherers from Amnesia: the dark descent are pretty damn freaky, they needed a spot on the list.
