Halo 4 is a strong game that does a good job staying true to the Halo franchise while not shrinking away from innovations – but the novelty of the series wore off a long time ago.
I just finished playing the campaign and I couldn't have been more thrilled and excited to play it. I've been a Halo player since 2001 and I still was in awe and excitement when I played this game.
Never understood the love for Halo. Halo 2 is superior. Maybe it's because I played Halo 2 first tho...
Halo 2 definitely has better multiplayer, but it has a totally abysmal campaign.
I was actually referring to the campaign. The mystery, wonder, and awe.
Just finished the campaign too. It doesn't try to reinvent the wheel but I felt there were some fun moments that broke you away from the FPS gameplay. The game gets progressively harder which is awesome.
I liked the Halo2 campaign apart from switching to the Arbiter for about half of it when I'd rather be the Master Chief, and not having a real ending. And some of those Jakal Snipers were pretty tough to get by even on heroic much less legendary. But I loved the addition of dual wielding and wish I could have it back, and really didn't miss the health packs very much. I loved hijacking and being able to drive most of the vehicles (including wraiths) instead of just a few like in Halo (warthog, scorpion, ghost, banshee-though not in MP).
