Square Enix: “something different” for Agni’s Philosophy on “different platforms” in June next year

Something “different” around Agni’s Philosophy, Square Enix’s next generation, Luminous Studio-based tech demo, will be revealed around June of next year, Square Enix worldwide technology director Julien Merceron has teased. And whatever it is, it will run on “different platforms.”

We might hear something about them next year, but it seems like they're saying this game (whatever it is) is going to released next year on different platforms. I doubt the next Xbox and PS are coming out by that time if we haven't seen anything yet.

Though I could be wrong, we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

It a tech demo. It most likely going to be shown at MS E3 press conference or sony conference.

Second, I don't think this game is going to be for the Wii U. The Luminous engine has not been confirmed to work on the WiiU.

It can't be on the Wii U. The graphics for this tech demo is basically CGI in real time. It is amazing and nothing but the strongest can handle it. So that would be PC, PS4 and maybe 720.

As much as I would like to see something amazing on the Wii U, it doesn't have near the specs required to run a game based on that engine. The tech was running on a PC with 16GB of RAM and a $400+ graphics card.

Even if they put the game on the Wii U, it's just not going to be to the same scale.

as far as Microsoft is concerned this is most definitely the E3 that we will see the next xbox consoles. the xbox360 is going to be 8 years old in 2013 and there are absolutely no first or third party titles of any relevance coming out after june of next year. just go to gamestop's coming soon page for xbox360 games and nothing is planned after june, it appears that GTA V is about the last of the core titles announced last year for release. with the ps3 however, it seems to still have another year of core titles coming out which leads me to believe we may or may not see an announcement of the next plasystation console. but who knows about square enix...that company has really turned into a bunch of ass-clowns this generation.

and yes Anarchy Reigns is scheduled for a 1/8/2013 release but that's hardly a core title or a game that extends the xbox360 longevity.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes appears to be coming out in September and Rainbow 6 Patriots is supposed to also come out in 2013 and we have near zero info on that. But I still think this is the E3 that will make up for the past few years of disappointment.

If Kojima has any dignity he will not put something as amazing as Ground Zeroes on current-gen consoles.

I want to see what they can do with their tech, I'd hate to see it gimped to accommodate today's consoles. A launch title for PS4/Xbox 720 would be cool. Otherwise they're gonna have to make a ton of concessions to get the game to run on 8 year old tech.

Agnis tech demo requires close to 3Teraflops to run. The demo ran on a GTX 680.

AMD Sea Islands 8XXX series GPU's run alot cooler and draw less power than the 7XXX series GPU's.

If we get Sea Islands in either or both next gen consoles, we're gonna be in for some serious eye candy.

I gotta admit that I wouldn't be that surprised if Versus XIII is now a PS4 title. Seems like they're trying to aim for perfection with this game
