GTA V fans angry at delayed trailer - lash out at Rockstar

"Entititlement, thy name is gamer. I'm not excluding myself from this discussion, but the current state of affairs in gaming is quite sad. Yes, gaming is an entertainment business, but it seems that we far too often forget that businesses have to operate, quite frankly, in a business manner. More importantly, those businesses are operated by humans with needs apart from the gaming industry, and that's a point we, as well as fans of other entertainment genres, seem to forget often.

If you need proof, take a look at the comments that are appearing all over Rockstar's official forums." (Culture, Grand Theft Auto V, PS3, Rockstar Games, Xbox 360)

i don't understand the title lol
anyway if we wated for a year how hard can it be to wait for a little while?
nrvalleytime  +   1195d ago
Haha it's just a little commentary on how we can be so in arms for something like a trailer. It's coming, and we can be patient. Especially in light of what's happened with the Hurricane.

Who the heck cares what some angry forum goers spat out?

Do we really need an article every time someone says something in a forum?

the gaming community is filled with a bunch of whiny kids? what a shock
make an article about it

You know how big a game is going to be when fans can't even wait to see a trailer. They don't care about a natural disaster hitting you and all they want is the god dang trailer!!! :0

Dang you R*!

Screw the delayed trailer. I want the GAME to come out. LoL

Rockstar states: “…You may not realise this but our entire New York office is still without power which, as you might imagine, is making it difficult to carry out our work as normal. …No further information available right now, but we hope to be fully operational again next week.”
Jinkies  +   1195d ago
I think the article is making a few upset fans out to be these massive group of horrible souless people.

As I've said before what I'm ticked off about the most is they knew there was a massive storm coming which could possibly wipe power out why didn't they move the trailer to one of their many other studios via post or email. I live in England and have heard about this storm a week before it happened.

I mean no offense, not seen all the flooding pictures from England where it's up to phone boxes and cars are floating around, killing a lot of people....yeah thats our SUMMER.

Yes, he is pretty immature as he could have put that without all of the swearing and the personal attack. You are also pretty immature though as you could have taken the high road and not had a comment with a sarcastic clap and a wish for him to be bubbled down.

Your comment is pretty stupid though, you shouldn't compare a hurricane which caused widespread destruction and dozens of deaths to the sort of floods we get in Britain which cause one or two deaths from people who stand next to swollen rivers and gives people soggy carpets in their houses.

And xplo's point about not moving it about studios is a good one.

On topic
What does this matter, it's only a trailer, people should learn to be more patient.

Yeah I do read, my comment was a pretty good summing up of the yearly British flooding I would say.

I would say that the American approach to it has been pretty accurate to the situation. They say that it'll take months to get some things back to normal and I would agree with that.

A couple of deaths and a soggy carpet....are you serious, wow, do you not read. We've had our fair share of deaths, not as many but still it's every year we get floods in most part of the UK. New York acts as if it was the end of the world
camel_toad  +   1195d ago
This sounds like a "my disaster is bigger than yours" conversation.

Mayan civilization FTW!
deep_fried_bum_cake  +   1195d ago

Mayans? That's cute, I think the dinosaurs may have something to say about that though. Now that was a disaster.
CalvinKlein  +   1195d ago
who gives a shit about a GTA 5 trailer geez.

Its not like you can play the trailer or something. Gamers are some of the most whiny little biatches, WAAAAA WHERES MY TRAILER.

I live in FL and see lots of hurricanes and even when they are not super devestating they cause lots of damage, kill people, cause flooding, knock down power lines and trees, destroy property. And that is just the small ones regardless of how powerfull they are even.

People cant expect them to work like everything is normal. Thy may not even be able to get to work or maybe one of their family members is dead or hurt.

It is hard to get back to work full strength after something like this happens because everyone at R* is effected at different levels and everyone will have to take care of their family and property before returning. They also need clear roads, working cars and power to be able to work again and not all of them may have that yet.

Do people really have no lives that they throw a fit because a TRAILER wasnt released on time.
camel_toad  +   1195d ago

You got me there. I would have loved to have seen the dinosaurs' blogs and Facebook postings back then though. Too bad all of their computers were destroyed along with them.

Stupid catastrophes. Always ruining stuff.

Derekvinyard13  +   1195d ago
guys im located right near R* in NYC and we have no power, everything is flooded. this is the worst flood NYC, long island and much more have ever seen. to the author of the R* post, shame on you, you look like a real moron. p

I live uptown in NYC and this hurricane was pretty bad. Anyone complaining about Rockstar not delivering the GTAV trailer needs to get off the gaming forums and look at a news site. GTAV isn't the first thing on my mind when I'm thinking about the thousands of people who JUST got their power back last night after some brutally cold weather.
MuhammadJA  +   1195d ago
Because some fans are just nerds and impatient.
BlmThug  +   1194d ago

I know, bro.

I asked for pinched leather in my Lexus, I ended up with stretched leather. Man, I took a verbal lashing to the dealer because WTF is up with not using pinched leather?

I nearly called my lawyer and had him sue the college funds that the dealer had been saving up for the past 20 years for his kids.

That is horrible. It reminds me of the time I was watching TV and the batteries on the remote died out. Suffice to say I called the battery company and told them how irresponsible they are that their batteries don't last longer. I mean I had to walk all the way to my room where I keep my spares. An entire room.
Lulz_Boat  +   1195d ago
why delay a trailer?

there no any fu**ing sense in doing something like that... i mean, isn't a game where you can say "it isn't finished"... or "we found some serious bugs"... damn you, it's a trailer, that i'm sure was registered months ago! they are just hype the game
DoomeDx  +   1195d ago
You havent heard about the hurricane?
There was an article about the trailer being delayed a couple of hours ago. it explains everything
bubblebeam  +   1195d ago
The hurricane swept the USB with the trailer on it away, and there is no hard copy. F***ing cut and paste.

Wait, are you suggesting that RS is using the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy to delay the trailer for GTAV, even though their own building (and probably the homes of many of their employees) has been without power since Tuesday... ALL in the interest of hyping up their game which isn't due till mid next year?

There's plenty of great games this year so people need to forget about GTA V until 2013 , you'll probably be able to play it in Spring.

I don't know why everyone is mad. It was suppose to be Gameinformer that was going to give us all the details on November 10. Now Rockstar wan'ts to give us a trailer. I was happy with Gameinformer, but I see Rockstar giving us a trailer as a plus.
Skate-AK  +   1195d ago
People are losing their home and lives and some gamers are pissed about a trailer being delayed? Try loseing everything you've worked for, for 20+ years. The game will be out in less then 6 months jeez.

I'm happy that we don't have hurricanes up here in Alaska but we do get 80mph winds on a yearly basis.
bubblebeam  +   1195d ago
"80mph winds on a yearly basis."

o_O OHH THE HORROR!!!! I eat 80mph winds for breakfast.

But seriously, this shows the stupidity of gamers. They are so self centered. Rockstar doesn't owe you a trailer. Sure, I'd like to see it released sooner rather than later, but no-one who is complaining actually paid for a front row ticket for the trailer.

From what I know about R*, having seen how they handle gamers concerns/comments on their work before it's released, they usually don't do any thing toe appease angry fans/detractors. They tend to let their work speak for itself (when it sells like hotcakes) which they rightly should IMO... I don't always agree with how they handle things, I give them credit for standing up for how they operate as opposed to some companies ( *Cough: Capcom) who try to make "every angry gamer" happy which makes a slightly flawed game even worse. I wouldn't expect much more than a 2-line apology along with the new trailer when it's ready or their office is somewhat back to normal.

R* knows that every angry fan will still buy their game so don't they're rushing to appease any audience, they're rushing because they want to be over it so they can get back to polishing the game. The trailer will be up when it's up. I'm just glad I don't live in NYC area so I'm fortunate enough to not to hear ppl whine about what I'm doing because I'm getting my house back in order after a HURRICANE! (Must be easy to criticize when you feel sooo entitled)
TXIDarkAvenger  +   1195d ago
Kind of mad too but its no reason to lash out at Rockstar. I mean Sandy was a legit excuse but we waited 1 year for a 2nd trailer. I mean come on. Hopefully it will be shown very soon.
Somebody  +   1195d ago
PC gamers have to wait a little bit more for the PC version to be released compared to the console versions. As far I've seen there hasn't been any big outcry over that. There has been a couple of articles mentioning this little detail but most PC gamers simple shrug it off as if it's nothing.

But this silly reaction over a delayed trailer?
TheModernKamikaze  +   1195d ago
It is not Rockstars fault at delaying it, they don't control the weather you know. I swear first world problem right there. What's sad is that some don't care about the people devastated by Sandy and only think about the game. Same as not even caring about the employees on Rockstars NYC.
MysticStrummer  +   1195d ago

Just shut up you whiners and let them make the game so they can take my money!

??? Didn't they finally just give us an announcement we've been waiting for.

We will get trailers when they are ready to show them to us.

What a dumb article.
CaptainFaisal  +   1195d ago
EXACTLY! plus rockstar loves to edit their trailers for ALONG time, to make sure its Perfect, and that it has alot of easter eggs, and hidden stuff for us to find!
So what ever they will show us will be the talk of the year!

Lets start an argument/opinion,
Do you think rockstar will show us more than just a trailer this week? Gameplay? Information?
After All we have waited a WHOLE year! What do you think they will show us?
Well Its your opinion lets hear it!
prototypeknuckles  +   1195d ago
Its not that serious, like seriously its a trailer calm down.
Dfooster  +   1195d ago
Yeah unfortunately we live in a "demand it now" culture these days. In years gone by before forums and the Internet a game was out before you knew it existed sometimes. Knowing more makes the wait harder and it takes an adult who has been to work to realise that there are more things to consider than simply just making the game and selling it when making something of this size with the amount of people and resources involved. Be patient little ones and thee shall be rewarded!!

claud3  +   1194d ago
Get a freaking life. This game does not revolve around anyone. It's just a God damn game, granted the biggest game if the last year and a half... but just a game
