Interesting read. Shame so few will actually read it.

In my brief time with the AC3 community, I've seen more passive bigotry than I have in the last six years or so of life. So many ugly myths perpetuated by American media have taken root too deep: I actually found myself attacked after pointing out to one person that Native Americans still, in fact, existed. That they were not all dead.

And then I had to point out to another that the native population was not decreasing. Being forced into segregated communities to live in poverty and ignorance is a far cry the image most Americans like to have of the native population: weeping into the sunset and gradually fading away (so that, you know, the more cream-colored folks can "inherit" everything free-and-clear).

lol, the same guy who disagreed with you I guess.

This is the precise reason why I think the agree/disagree system needs to be removes. It actively discourages discussion. Why try to argue or counter a post with a thought of your own when you can just click disagree? That way you can voice your indignation without actually thinking or reasoning through things--I mean, hell, if you had to do that much, you might realize you were wrong!
