Battlefront 3: What To Expect From Disney’s Star Wars Takeover

WC - Rule number one of fandom, Star Wars Episode 7 does not exist. It is purely a fragment of George Lucas’ imagination, and authors’ non-canon fiction. Rule number two of fandom; these rules are not rules. News of Disney buying Lucasfilm hit the internet less than two days ago, and already in that time I’ve cursed more than a burning Ewok at what a disaster this buyout is. Is it justfied? No. Whilst we all have to accept Episode 7 is happening, there are a few other topics revolving this take over, that have slipped under the carpet. Or under the Wookie.

Unjustified? Lucas is aging, and someone needed to take over the reins. Marvel and Pixar have done well under Disney, so let's not cross lightsabers just yet.

And I don't think Battlefront III has slipped under the carpet. It, alongside a new Monkey Island game, are most of what makes this merger so potentially incredible.

"Rule number one of fandom, Star Wars Episode 7 does not exist. It is purely a fragment of George Lucas’ imagination, and authors’ non-canon fiction."

First part is correct, but the novels are canon. However, they likely won't be after Disney releases 7, 8, and 9.

Disney will likely do a better job with the movies than Lucas. I really don't get why people are freaking out about him not being very involved. Personally, I think its better for the franchise that Lucas stay away from it. I have lots of respect for the man, but he is an awful director.

As for the games, I would be interested to finally leave the prequel era. In fact, I would like to see 1313 take place during the Coruscant uprising or any time after the OT.

I honestly can't say what effect Disney will have on Star Wars. I'm not crazy about trampling over established lore, but I'll give it a chance.

The one beacon of hope that I have is finally getting out of the prequel era. I am sick of it.
