Red Dead 3: 5 Things We Want to See

WC writes: Rockstar did recently tease a new Red Dead game on their news wire, along with the first set of GTA V screenshots, with the intriguing tease: “Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series.” So, despite the lack of actual detail, this is all confirms a new game, which will likely be announced after Grand Theft Auto V’s release.

But what do we want to see from a series that pretty much has it all? Aside from little and obvious things like improved graphics and less bugs, there are a few things we definitely want to see feature in a new Red Dead Redemption title.

My list

1) I do NOT want to see Jack as the main character...that kid was terrible. <Spoilers> I honestly wish John survived, I thought they would of done a second DLC with an alternative ending where he survives, like the Government comes earlier for John while he's away and they kill Abbi and Jack so with nothing else to loose he decides to live the life of an outlaw after realsing you can't escape it and decides to get revenge, a bit like the Outlaw Josey Wales. Least then at the end we would see John and Bonnie become closer and let him and their relationship develop into the third game. His death felt cheap to me...I mean he knew what the Government agents were like how did he know they wouldn't go after Abbi and Jack after he sacraficed himself for them, thats the first thing which would cross my mind before doing anything like that.

2) Bigger map...the bigger the better I suppose, more things to explore, more things to find, more easter eggs to include....maybe a Cowboys vs Aliens reference for example.

3) Better guns and equipment to buy, maybe let us upgrade them. I had so much money at the end of the game it was unreal and I couldn't do anything with it. Maybe let us buy land and build a house in ANY shape we want.

4) Better AI...AI will hopefully always improve but it's something I would like to see improved on even more in the next game

5) A Delorean hidden away...I know I know but I was thinking of only be able to find it near the end of the game and having to do a ton of work to get it. A Back to the Future reference would be amazing...even when driving if you could go upto 88mph it would actuallydisappear then reappear like that GTA4 mod.

Personally for the next game I would like a Red Dead Redemption prequel. One that shows John as an outlaw before he tried to settle down.

I'm pretty sure they are going to make a bigger map since GTA 5 will be a lot bigger than previous games.

I want a pet wolf or bear following me around. My horse is a bullet magnet... or a hireling along the lines of Fallout 3/NV followers.

One thing is all I ask for... I DON'T WANT TO MASH X TO RUN!

Really, I think that is what killed my old controller!... What that and BlazBlue killed my "down" key...

Red Dead Redemption is the second game in the series. Red Dead Revolver, the original, was released in 2004 for the Xbox and PS2.

Red Dead 2 was Red Dead Redemption. The first Red Dead was Red Dead Revolver.

I See....was it any good?(In reference to Revolver, I've played Redemption.) Last gen the only RockStar games I got were GTA3, and San Andreas. If given the opportunity I always try and go back and play the rest of a series if I played 1 of them.

I absolutely loved it...more so than Redemption.

It was more of a linear arcadey type shooter instead of the open ended gameplay of GTA and Redemption. It wasn't about skinning cougars or herding cows. It was about shootouts, quick draw battles, and amazing boss fights.

It was probably the most creative game Rockstar has developed since GTA3.

It upset me a bit that R* basically went with GTA+Horses instead of making a true sequel to Red Dead Revolver.

So it was more like a spaghetti western then Redemption was eh?(Where redemption sorta pulled back on that aspect to tell a more compelling narrative overall. Which was wonderful up until you became his son.)That does sound pretty fun. :D
