"The PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect Trilogy will have the original Mass Effect with Bring Down the Sky integrated into the game, both on-disc and on the PSN download. Mass Effect 2 will still have the same DLC on-disc that it was originally shipped with: Cerberus Network; Kasumi; Overlord; and Lair of the Shadow Broker. Finally, Mass Effect 3 will also be exactly as it originally shipped."
What about the "Arrival" DLC for ME2? And the "From the Ashes" DLC for ME3?
EDIT: Comments for the blog are closed, what a surprise!
Actually I think that Bioware is the one who has been disappointing fans lately, not EA. EA has gotten better with the years since the beginning of this generation. They are no longer like Activision is now.
The one that has improved the most is Ubisoft though.
I am not sure why they make this kind of decisions. I like the fact that they make the complete package as you would expect with a movie franchise. It's good for people that didn't get to play them to have them all at once. I for one, am waiting for the complete Kingdom Hearts Collection and Zone of Enders, but publishers need to address these decisions to scam gamers so that there is future for all these collections.
Well, I didn't expect it for PS3 until 2013... I see some of you will find something to complain about every time there is an EA or Mass Effect article. $60 == hundreds of hours of gameplay. If you can't find the value in that, then you're playing them wrong. Sure, DLC would be great, but I and most like me already have the DLC.
Yeah it really did, framerate drops at every corner, horrid loading times...damn. I recommend PC version still. Even driving the mako was better with a mouse and Keyboard which is a bit shocking to be honest.
I played part 2 and was kind of let down with this series. I was excited to have it come to ps3 but thought it was overrated. I thought the aliens were cool and liked the conversation aspect of talking to different species and liked the planet mining mini games, but the story itself and gameplay was kind of lackluster. I also hated that ME2 was one giant lead up to part 3. Nothing of any significance, in respect to the main plot, was really revealed.
Definitive version? Hardly, they are missing half the DLC. Not only that, they are charging the same price for this trilogy on each platform even tho the 360 and PC version is missing some of the content the PS3 version has. And let's not even mention the Wii U which gets ME3 only with no real extras beyond tablet controls and an exclusive gun and they are charging the same price for that as the trilogy on other platforms.
You can buy each game separately and get all the content in this trilogy for a lot less than the asking price of this new bundle, and you would get all the same content too since each platforms version of the trilogy is just the launch version of each game with the content it had when it first came out on each platform. Add to the mix they are still charging the original prices for the DLC for ME2 which is missing from this "definitive set" and have not lowered the price since the games launch almost 3 years ago, which means its an extra $45 to get all the DLC, almost the cost of this trilogy itself. Face it, it's a huge rip-off no matter which way you look at it!
The idea behind the trilogy is awesome and there's no reason why 3 AAA games shouldn't be sold at a $60 price, JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER NEW RELEASE.
There are millions of new console owners entering the market EVERY QUARTER and the Mass Effect Trilogy is something NEW to them definitely worth 60 bucks.
It's also cool the collection includes some of the DLC but there's no reason why EA should take away from themselves the ability to sell the rest of the DLC to those new customers, just like they did when the games originally launched!
In my country ME1 is $9, ME2 is $12 and ME3 is $45, all brand new, that equals $66 for those not good with their maths. Now that's not even taking the many second hand copies into consideration.
In my country the trilogy is launching for $99.95, considering people can freely get all three games with the same launch DLC for $66 separately, how is $99 a "great" price tag? It's not, plain and simple. You may be happy to spend $33 extra for nothing but most people wouldn't be.
Now if it's a ripoff in a little old country like New Zealand then I'm sure it's a ripoff elsewhere too, the ME forum members have said as much so I'd assume it is. Also for future reference, when someone has facts like costing etc to back them up, it isn't whining, it's a debate, or a valid argument.

Well worth the price of admission.
