GameInformer- Liberation Maiden Review

GameInformer- In a vote of 200 opposed to 273 in favor, the teenage daughter of the recently deceased president of New Japan gets elected to power. As soon as the votes are cast, new president Shoko Ozora jumps into a mech and exits the floating city in a show of speed and power to fighting the nation’s enemies single-handedly.

That is how Liberation Maiden begins. It doesn’t give you any context, like who you’re fighting or why you’re fighting them. All you know is that you’re the president, and you’re pretty good at piloting a mech. Liberation Maiden comes from the mind of Suda 51, a game designer best known for oddball games like Killer 7, Shadows of the Damned, and the recent Lollipop Chainsaw. Liberation Maiden lives up to the bizarre tones established in his previous games, but on a smaller scale.
