Black Mesa: A Watershed Moment in Modding History

Any self respecting PC gamer will have heard of Black Mesa, the total conversion mod that has re-built Half Life from the ground up. Receiving highly positive critical and fan-based praise around the world, Black Mesa is a watershed moment in the history of modding. (Black Mesa, PC)

Ummmmm Nooooope!
Sorry but In My Honest Opinion.....Black Mesa is NOT a watershed moment in Modding! They just remade a game using a newer engine! Same game, same exact gameplay but just better graphics!

A watershed moment to me would be when Modders made the DotA mod from Warcraft thus creating a whole NEW GENRE of gaming the "MOBA" Massive Online Battle Arena!

even The Arma 2 STALKER Mod (STALKER ported to the ARMA 2 Engine) is more of a Watershed moment cause now STALKER on the Arma 2 Engine is like an entirely different game using the many tools of the Arma 2 engine! Darn near the MMO variant we hope to see in Savarium or STALKER 2!

Or The Half Life Mod, Counter Strike which became it's very own game and Series and giving the modder a Job at Valve!

I'm not downplaying what The Black Mesa team did cause what they did was FANTASTIC but I just don't see it as a Game Changer like what the word "Watershed Moment" is defined as!
