Nintendo seems like they "get it" when it comes to how gamers view certain DLC and expect great offers for using an online service. Excited about the 2 year 10% credit on every Wii U online purchase!!!!

Absolutely! Nintendo aren't as money grabbing as some of the other major technology companies.

One thing that I respect Nintendo for is when they come to big decisions like this, they're willing to leave money on the table in order to maintain the integrity of the IP/company.

In another article related to this, Nintendo characterized the discussions as intensive. I bet they were. I have no doubt that Micro transactions in Animal crossing would have made the company a ton of money. With all the success stories of free to play, DLC in that vein had to be an attractive prospect.

But Nintendo took a knee on the issue because it would have tarnished what AC was all about. I respect Nintendo for doing that.

I think it's time for me to get a 3DS, I've been longing to get into the Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem franchises for a while after playing Brawl, and I may as well add the inevitable Golden Sun 4 and Monster Hunter 4.
