Students play Minecraft for University art degree

Ohio-based student newspaper The BG News has reported how students at Bowling Green State University are using games like Second Life and Minecraft in their art lessons as a means to structure individual projects, go on virtual field trips, and generally doss about. All in the name of art.

I bet it's an easy A to boost their GPA. Just like that art history class i took. Barely attended and the final grade i just had to write a five page essay on what I think about a piece of art. Wrote some bs and got my 100.

I have a video games class where we pretty much just play games. Well, there's learning involved... but I'm pretty sure most people just signed up to play the games.

The course introduced me to Braid, though, which is fantastic!

Minecraft is a tool you use to free your mind.

We need games like this. You have no idea what you are capable of, artistically, until you play a game like Minecraft or LittleBigPlanet. (Especially the Vita version)
