First person. In the gaming industry, that term does not scream originality. For the past five or so years, the market has been flooded with copy and paste military first person games. In a conversation, should you bring up the first person genre, images of Call of Duty and Battlefield are immediately conjured up. This makes it all the more surprising that the most original and creative game this year uses the first person view. Dishonored, developed by the team behind Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, is a first person stealth-action adventure hybrid. In it, the player takes the role of Corvo Altano, bodyguard to the empress of the fictional city Dunwall. Right off the bat, she is murdered and her daughter, the heir to the throne, is kidnapped. Corvo take the fall and is sentenced to death.
