Killzone HD Review (Gamingvogue)

GV writes: A franchise that was supposed to have a rich lore with mountains of back story related to both the ISA and Helghast, and considering the fact that the latter are quite intriguing, Guerrilla’s insistence on making ISA the good guys is a bewildering decision. (Killzone 1 HD, PS3) 5/10

So this guy's opinion is "this sucks, that sucks, everything sucks, game sucks". That's pretty much all I got out of that. Someone needs to practice writing reviews, regardless of whether they are opinion or not.

LOL. This game get's reviewed with today's standard. This is released as a collectors item and a classic. Would be curious what some other classic PS2 game would score.

It's a new release is it not? Should be reviewed with today's standard of HD re-releases. If the original game was average then there isn't much a shiny new coat can help.

Plus when it originally came out for the PS2 it didn't get great reviews right? It got decent reviews, but there were criticisms.
Bathyj  +   1073d ago
Yeah, and most of those criticisms were that it wasnt good enough to kill Halo.

And then Part 2 was criticised for having a pre-rendered trailer.

And then 3 was criticised for not being like 2.

Games media have always had it in for this series so I'm not surprised. Still, it hasn't stopped me from enjoying them all.

You can stick the whole review in one n4g comment. Odds are: it's gonna suck(the review, that is), yet you defend it. You don't question the quality of the review; you don't directly address the review at ALL, which makes one wonder if you even READ it to get what people are talking about. (It's okay; we know you had no intention to do so, anyway.

The review is poorly written. Bad grammar, poor paragraph structure, and a lack of any real detail all point to this. It's unclear whether he understands what an HD remaster is, and gives off mixed signals as to whether or not he's played the original PS2 version.

"It's a new release is it not?"

When they "digitally remaster" a classic movie, do you hold it to the same standards as a movie originally made last year? If you do, there's something seriously wrong with you.

Let's be honest: you're only saying it because it's a game on PS3.

Shortest review I've ever read and not really in depth :L Different strokes for different folks i guess.

Obviously this is a poorly written review but he does make one good point that I think everyone will agree with. The games don't give enough background and lore on the Helghast. The ISA really aren't all that interesting to be honest. The Helghast's weaponry, history, and civilization feels like theres so much potential. Its just never been touched.

Luckily, Mercenary is supposed to give us a deeper look into the background of both cultures. :)

Luckily, if you have a Vita.
newn4gguy  +   1073d ago
Yes. Why would a gamer not have a Vita?

I am a huge fan of the series and the ISA/Helghast universe. Poorly written review. ...

The vita killzone will rock..

Or...maybe...just maybe...the HD remake really does suck and should be lest on the PS2.
