Four Terrifying Water-Based Enemies

Jake: "The water is a bad place. It’s deep, you can’t see in it, you can’t breath it, and you can’t move very well. Because of this, there is no video game enemy more terrifying than an aquatic one. Here’s just four of the fishy bastards that haunt my dreams!" (Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Half-Life, Jak and Daxter, PC, PS2, Xbox)

First thing that popped into my mind when I saw this title was Amnesia lol.

That water monster in Amnesia scared the crap out of me! Especially when I would fall off a crate and panicked and couldn't jump back up on it lol.

I'd have to say Nibbla from Donkey Kong Country 3.
What a mofo.

You know, when I was a kid, Unagi the Eel from Mario 64 terrified me. I think it should be on the list.

God of War has Leviathan and Poseidon which are both bad asses and whatever those damned water chimera are from Resistance 1 or R2, don't remember which are pretty tough. I think it was R2.

OMG! R2 I believe! Those water chimera and the tentacled boss one were heartstopping!

I learned early on that Pitfall Harry couldn't swim.

'Water based enemies?'

Are these creatures entirely made of water or do they have some exoskeleton? I can't see them being much of a threat with only liquid teeth to attack with. At best all they'd do is leave a damp patch that would probably take five minutes to remove with a hair-dryer!

... or was the word they were looking for 'aquatic'?

Ive gotta add in Treasures of the Deep on PSX although it was all underwater. Just something about the deep that makes it so nerve wracking, i love it.
