I do enjoy a good horror game. One of my favorite areas in a game was the haunted hotel section in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Good choice. That sequence really was quite disturbing. Good game overall. I might have to play it again soon.

I still want a horror game based on real world locations.

You could have Poveglia, Aokigahara, Pripyat (although STALKER did that), Hellingly Asylum and the Changi hospital in Taiwan. There are many others. The abandoned Japanese themepark would be good.

I'm not really sure of a story to tie it altogether though.

My favorite horror games are amnesia and silent hill 2.
