FTG writes- Two-dimensional gaming has been few things recently: painstakingly difficult platforming, an emotional experience, or an overdone genre (a la “metroid-vania”). Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken hatches (oh yes, here come the chicken puns) as neither of those three and brings back side-scrolling silliness to counter the rest. It’s one of those games that has so much polish, shine, and genuine fun that you can’t help but try to ignore how repetitive and monotonous it can be. 7/10
