See Assassin’s Creed III Liberation’s Touch Controls in Action

A bit of advice for Assassin’s Creed fans: get some sleep this weekend. Come Tuesday, you’ll get to immerse yourself in the Revolutionary mythology of Assassin’s Creed III both at home and on the go.

If you’ve been keeping up with our coverage of Aveline de Grandpre’s portable adventure, you’re likely already aware of Assassin’s Creed III Liberation’s open-world gameplay, its crossover with the PS3’s Assassin’s Creed III, and it’s PS Vita-specific features. But showing is better than telling, so have a look at some of Liberation’s (optional) touch controls in action, as AC3L Writer Richard Farreese tells us how the team adapted the series’ new control scheme to PS Vita. Spoiler: they didn’t have to change much.

That white Vita is so beautiful; I want it so badly. AC3L looks like it could be a real contender for handheld/mobile game and get nominated for best Vita game.

So it will be like AC3 Side Story then.
Its like playing Jean on Bayonetta.
Now that is gaming.
Chain Kill will be the dethrone QTE.
Sony & UBISOFT are on a roll!

Is Ubisoft trying to take on Activision & EA?

DigitalRaptor1851d ago

Ubisoft have been making better games than EA and especially Activison for a long time.

Nice, just finished sound shapes, it's a trip. Look into it if you haven't already.

i actually don't like the touch screen for gaming , even in vita.. it will make the game even less challenging and that's a step backward , they should just use it for the menu , that's the way to take advantage of it ...

Godchild10201851d ago

You have to fill the meter before you can do a chain kill with the touch screen. It will not always be there. Using the touch screen is optional.

SAE1851d ago

didn't know that , i thought when i saw a video for it that you just touch the soldiers and they will die , so i hated that , it is a good thing they put a meter but still , kills gonna be easier ...

I'm gonna try not to use the chain kill. Combat is already pretty easy as it is.

It could help gaming in a lot of things other then menus too. Just think about a game like Skyrim. With touch controls, you can grab items in the world without having to aim a cursor at it. Needless to say inventory browsing would be infinitely more efficient. Devs just need to be a little more imaginative.

@iDeath489 every touch part is optional and without using the touchscreen the game is harder and more difficult on the vita ( Read some previews). Menu's i am ok with but every touch implementation has to have button counterpart. ( Not like resistance BS with the grenades)

Depends.

I use touch for weapon / item selection in Metal Gear Solid 2, and miss it when I fire up the PS3 version.
