Platinum Games: "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a real Metal Gear-game"
According to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Producer Yuji Korekado defends the game again and says, this is a real Metal Gear-game.

Judging by the article, the producer doesn't know what people mean when they say it ain't a Metal Gear game. He thinks they mean it offensively that it is not up there in terms of quality, when people simply mean, it's not a Stealth/shooter. It's an Action/Hack and slash game.
Everyone who likes Action games can tell this game is already up there if not better than the rest quality wise, compared with Bayonetta, god of war, Dmc etc. The Producer should just learn what Metal Gear fans are talking about and he should realize this game may not appeal to MGS fans if they don't like Hack and Slash games like Bayonetta, God of war etc. Although Some MGS fans don't like it simply because it's called Metal gear. Which is a bit stupid but whatever. If you wanna pass on a great game because of it's name go right ahead

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set in the Metal Gear universe. Therefore, it is a Metal Gear game.
Is it a "Metal Gear Solid" game? No. Because it doesn't involve the protagonist Snake.
Is it a "Metal Gear" game? Yes. Because it's set in the same Universe/World of the previous Metal Gear games, but loosely associated with them within that saga. Which is why this game has been called a spin-off for the longest time.
If you don't like Action/Hack and Slash games then it's your prerogative to ignore this game. This game was made to set Raiden apart from Snake's story and let him be his own character with full focus on Raiden. It's no longer Snake's battle, since Snake won his war. But a war won doesn't mean there won't be other wars to fight. This is Raiden's war that he has to deal with, without Snake this time.
I don't know how to tell you this but Yuji Korekado doesn't work for Platinum games. He works for Kojima Productions.
I think he also happens to be the man Kojima tasked with creating Metal Gear Rising in the first place.

Remember when they said MGR was a button masher, hack and slash, had no stealth elements or any real story to speak of? where did they get such information if not from their own asses? They'll do the same when they read this. They'll instantly assume this is the word of Platinum and spread blind hate.
I consider myself a huge Metal Gear fan, but I know that Platinum Games has only ever created amazing games. I've no doubt this'll be another one, even if it doesn't play like a typical MGS game.
not in the traditional sense but still an awesome game none the less. coming from a big mgs fan im glad raiden has his own spin-off title. i still feel like this game could of been more than an action hack and slash game, but im happy to get it the way it is.
