MOH Warfighter Unfinished but still Released?

It appears the MOH Warfighter moderator in Battlelog is indicating they new MOH Warfighter may have not been fully ready for release but due to time constraints they still released it. Here is a quote from the moderator's response...

"What I can tell you is that the developers, mainly Eddie Rojas and Thad Sasser were behind us every day we were in-house taking notes. They took pages upon pages of notes about our feedback. Everything from pistol swap speed, down to the scope sway when you pull the bolt back was all done by us. We fixed as many problems as we could, but we didnt have a big enough window to fit everything in. Things will get patched, though it might not be overnight." "There were issues, yes. An we dealt with them as we came to them. Maybe our changes caused the newer problems, I am certainly not ruling that out."

Are they paying the price now with low review scores and numerous threads on the many bugs that plague the game? (Medal of Honor: Warfighter, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

They were better off releasing this early next year, after a lot of people got COD out of their system and looking for something new to shoot. They would have had more time to polish the game and get the beta out longer with more users.

That would have also got them better sales and better reviews. I blame EA and the fact that Danger Close had no back bone to say they don't want to release it yet. This may have hurt their reputation.

Yea, IDK why EA wanted to go against CoD with MoH. BF is the only other military shooter that can hang with CoD sales. MoH:W would have benefited a lot if it was released early next year.

It has nothing to do with going against COD, it released now to cash in on holiday sales in a few weeks. Why do you think most games release in this window?
SOD_Delta  +   886d ago
@momthemeatloaf Do you really think people are going to choose MoH:W over CoD or Halo?

EA didn't wanna clash MoH with Crytek's Crysis 3. Would have been smarter time to release it though. Launching bugged shit on hype train just spells out short term sales and price crash. I expect this to be $20 bucks by March 2013 with DLC included.

Another thing to note is short development cycle is causing alot of crunch time. EA Sports is having trouble even making a basketball game within 9 month cycles they are given that can even look decent for them to put on the shelf.

One of two things need to happen. A bigger development team to make up for time crunch or option 2. A longer development cycle. Most games that are year to year have 9 months to make it through the whole process. 21 months if two year project.

To be honest in my opinion GTA V will own the first quarter of 2013 and will probably crush MOH

I thought the game was great. I am sure it will end up with only a few hundred when Call of Duty comes out but I am really enjoying the game.

The sniper potion early in the game was ridiculous... I ended up passing it eventually, but had to aim 2 feet above the heads of the last 2 enemies in order to kill them..

That's call being realistic. Gravity dude!

If you look at the scope, there are meter markings on the MIL dots. If you look above the enemies, there is a distance measurement. I really loved that section. The game is great, if you are a gun junkie like me, there is a lot to be excited about. Everything is real in this one, most all the optics I've looked into purchasing at one time or another.

Somebody has been playing too much CoD.

The same mistake was made with Battlefield 3. It shipped with a ton of bugs, which took months to rectify, and as such sales suffered - at least to begin with, anyway.

EA was stupid to ship it, and Danger Close more so for allowing them to. Warfighter has a big enough job competing with Call of Duty as it is; as a half-assed, unpolished, poorly QAd product, it stands no chance now - and reviews are proof of it.

Blame ea dc/dice cant do nothing about when they are pressured to do it.
Also cod isnt perfect either, none of games are now because everything is rushed.

One good thing about low review scores on a game you really want is that in a few weeks, you can get it at a low price and still have a good time playing it.

I learned a long time ago not to listen to polls or reviews, for they are simply the opinion of another. I have been watching this game since its anouncement. As well i was also in the 360 beta and i am now enjoying MoH warfighter on my ps3. My opinion is this, the game is great and a huge improvment over the last iteration of the series. Even as an obviously unfinished game, i am enjoying this game more than when bf3 launched. I just hope that in the same vein, warfighter will get that game fixing patch. Soon.

Dont be hypocrates people, name one recent game that was perfect out of the box. True MOH2 is screwed up, no doubt about it. Even the great BF3 has received more patches than my kid brothers bike and dont even get me started on COD games. Reality is these games are being pushed out as quick as they can make them and these companies know they can always patch up whats needs to be after launch. The real question is which companies will take the time and money to fix their game. DICE could just said eff it and left BF3 busted sure but they didnt. Will Danger Close do the same ? They better if they plan on making a MOH3. Sadly Im guessing theyll propably drop a couple of patches and move on but i doubt it will ever be perfect, but like i said what MP game put there now is ? So stop acting like this is the first game to be messed up on launch.

Whoever is running the show for them should be fired.

1.) Don't release a FPS War game the same time as Halo 4 & COD Black Ops 2.

2.) By waiting until Jan/Feb they could have ironed out the bugs and maybe be getting 7.5/10....8.1/10 instead of getting 4/10, 5/10, 6/10 type of scores.

Somebody who is in charge their thinks they are smarter than they really are.
