Halloween Special: Top Five Scariest Game Franchises

Keeping with the upcoming Halloween celebrations, here are the top five scariest franchises that only make this list simply because no matter how old you are or if you play in broad daylight, these games are just damn scary. If you don’t find them scary, you’re either lying to sound tough or you’re part robot.

that was a great game!!! very tense!!!

that and i felt fear when playing Man-hunt. i had the fear of being jumped by several gang members in that game!!!
You can't get thous feeling of fear in this gen's games, there lacking. -_-

With the current state of the Horror genre I dont think I would like to see a condemned 3! They would probably turn it into some sort of half arsed shooter to appeal to more people :/

Condemned really had its moments for sure.

There was one moment in Condemned 2 where i died due to freezing a second too much out of fear. Really clever in some parts.

Wow, was Fatal Frame seriously scary enough to beat out Amnesia? If so, I'm mad for missing out.

I can't say if it could beat out Amnesia as I've never played it, but Fatal Frame WAS pretty damn scary! It was that sort of game people would turn the lights out, grab a popcorn and sit around to watch me playing as if they were watching a scary movie!
Can't possible tell you how much I miss games like that...

I totally agree... Dead Space was terrifying, but I can think of at least 5 others to make this list longer. Pyramid Head should have made this list...

Where is Silent hill 2, Siren blood curse, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow Of Chernobyl, Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the Earth, Cry Of Fear, Lone Survivor, Penumbra: Overture
