Journey wins GameCity Prize 2012

EDGE - Journey was tonight named the winner of the second annual GameCity Prize during GameCity7 in Nottingham.

Thatgamecompany’s stunning PS3 adventure follows last year’s winner, Minecraft, in being honoured with an award that seeks to celebrate videogames as a cultural artform. Journey was selected by a panel of leaders in non-gaming creative fields, chaired by filmmaker Lord Puttnam. (Journey, PS3)

I don't think it could be called "indie"... remember that it's financed and published by Sony. :)

And thoroughly deserved. A game that went against the grain and dared to be different... and STILL got good review scores. Rare indeed.

To call this game brilliant would be an understatement, the sun set scene is arguably the best video gaming moment I have ever experienced, oh and the soundtrack on its own is a masterpiece.
