My 2 biggest gripes of multiplayer is the kids who curse and trash talk when mom/dad isn't around; and people who join a game thinking they're going to get something out of it, and whine/rage quit when you don't do what THEY want, even after explaining what the plan is at that moment.
The article does make some valid points when regarding to play at your own pace and to basically have fun; some people treat online like a second job, hence why I left Final Fantasy 11 for good.
