Gamedaily's Robert Workman writes: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." With that logic in mind, Studio Liverpool has left well enough alone for its latest Wipeout game for the PSP, Wipeout Pulse. This futuristic racing game still follows the basics that have been in place with the series since its PlayStation 1 inception. What it's missing in originality it more than makes up for with sheer quality.
First, let's talk about the graphics. Wipeout Pulse delivers what has to be one of the cleanest, smoothest experiences you'll ever see on the PSP. The frame rate never dips below thirty frames per second, not even when you have an enemy throwing a barrage of mines at you from close range. The detail surrounding each track is appealing.
