Weirdest spin-offs in video game history

If you saw any screens or video for this week’s release of Silent Hill: Book of Memories, you were likely befuddled by the concept of the game. Instead of a tense, solitary adventure into one’s deepest fears, Book of Memories is a top-down action game that features up to four-player multiplayer. As poor a fit as that sounds for Silent Hill, it got us thinking of other spin-offs that were even odder fits for their franchises. Are any of these spin-offs a more obtuse fit than Book of Memories?
