he Wii U’s being or not being a next-gen console is not just a controversial subject on Dual Pixels, but also all around the gaming world.
You forgot "kinda isn't". No, that would be kind of silly, wouldn't it?
It's stupid how people have no idea what the word nex-gen means. It means (generation)It could be a box of cornflakes with a slightly different sweater and when they generate the new box it's a new generation. So when Nintendo stops generation the old Wii and opens a new production line of something new then thats the next generation. They are generating something different. It can even be worse than the last generation but it's still NEXT GEN!
Gamers seem to have somehow made a new meaning for a term with an already established meaning.
Nintendo made another limbo console. Stuck between gens.
A quote from this article "Unfortunately, Sony and Microsoft were able to quickly create motion controllers of their own. Microsoft even went the distance and made the player the controller with their Kinect system that used only their camera to sense the player’s motion" Ppffst no serious gaming article would promote the shit that is Kinect, even the Move controller is a joke. More stupidity "Sony Vita would essentially be able to mimic, if not expand on the idea of the Wii U’s touch screen controller. In all, I don’t think that the Wii U is a next gen console but it just brings Nintendo up to par with current gen Consoles. In conclusion, the Wii U is kinda a next-gen console" This statement contradicts itself. Im sure the Vita has the potential to do some interesting and similar things but it won't, very few devs will actually support it because its an add on its not integrated.
Blah blah blah wiiu is proper nextgen its just going to be based around gpgpu power rather than cpu.
It's a stepping stone to next gen.
