Holiday 2012’s Most Anticipated Console Games

With the holiday season right around the corner, consumers are eagerly awaiting the latest video-game releases—a list that varies considerably by console, according to the Nielsen Game Rank for Q4 2012. Halo 4 continues to rank highest for Xbox 360 gamers, while Call of Duty: Black Ops II is an extremely close second for Xbox 360 (0.25% behind), and also tops the PS3 list. Just Dance 4 still provides the greatest degree of allure for Wii gamers. (Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Halo 4, Industry, Xbox 360)

And why shouldn't we? Halo 4 is looking like perhaps the best game the 360 has seen, while Black Ops II is looking... well, like everyone expected it to look.

Here's hoping Halo 4 is something special.

Agreed, Halo 4 is looking really nice. I hope it turns out to be as great as it looks for you guys who are looking forward to it. Though, I'm pretty sure it will. :]

Halo 4 is the reason why i'm probably going to have to hold off an AC3 and Hitman til next year.

Halo 4 for sure. It is the biggest game launching this quarter, if not, the whole year.

Hitman: Absolution for me!

The rest is rubbish!

Halo 4 is going to be amazing, I can not wait. That is a bit depressing that the top 10 anticipated PS3 games are all multiplatform with the exception of LBP Karting. I can wait though, The Last of Us next year will be delicious.

Obviously.

Given the choice between the 2 100% of people would choose Halo.

Wow people are more excited about Fable: The Journey than LBP: Kart Racing.

Halo will be massive though, there hasn't been a numbered Halo in years.

Of course Halo is gonna be the most anticipated game of this holiday. I would have though PlayStation All would have been up there with LBP Karting cracking the top ten for PS3 owners most anticipated.

Comes to show most PS3 owners just wanna play Cod this holiday and just like every holiday.

well i never did that and my PS3 is almost 6 years old... i dont play FPS i'm more for original stuff. too many sequels kills it for me in most cases where there isnt any improvement.

As i "wrote" in my next post ( is that possible :D ) i'm buying Sports Champions 2 and Battle Royale.

for me it's Sports Champions 2 and Battle Royale. I wonder why they are not on the list

I just wonder where they are getting the game rank from? Are people voting or what?

from the article:

"Methodology:
The overall anticipation level among gaming consumers was derived from leveraging several key consumer metrics (including Awareness, Purchase Interest and others) into one overall score. That score was then compared to scores from all previous games released on the same platform at the same point in their release cycles, to determine the percentile ranking of the upcoming title (aka the Nielsen Game Rank™).

Consumer data was collected from September 9 to October 6, 2012, via online surveys of more than 4,800 male and female active gamers between the ages of 7 to 54. Respondents must own at least one current generation console and actively play on and purchase games for that console in order to qualify for the survey.

Titles included in the analysis are those expected to release on at least one current generation console (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) from October to December 2012."

Halo 4 for sure!

I am confident enough to say that I am only looking forward to Halo 4 from this point on and will be the main title I play until The Last of Us comes out, which I will complete in a week and then move back onto Halo 4.

There is only Halo 4.
Everything else will have to wait.
