Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis Is Out For The Season, A Two-Time Victim Of The Madden Curse?

Perennial NFL Pro Bowler Ray Lewis, the heart and soul of the Baltimore Ravens, is out for the rest of the season with a torn triceps. The 37 year-old linebacker suffered the injury in a victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. ESPN is reporting that this injury could end the career of the Super Bowl XXXV champion, who has had 227 straight starts.

Although he’s not on the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 13 (that honor went to Calvin Johnson, who has not been injured), Lewis did work closely with Electronic Arts in a series of funny TV commercials with actor Paul Rudd) and other promotional videos, like the E3 video shown below. Does that make Lewis the first two-time victim of the Madden Curse?

The story is too old to be commented.

Calvin Johnson is not having a great season so far. I think the Madden Curse has something to do with that.

Feels more like Matt Stafford is on the cover of Madden. He's such a loser, I hate Stafford! Throw to your best WR and not crappy Nate Burleson. The Vikings do all they can to get the ball in Percy Harvin's hands while the Lions are content to use Megatron as a decoy for the first 40 minutes of games before finally saying "hey we need to score points" and start throwing to him.

Yeah, that's true. Stafford seems to have poor throwing mechanics this year too. At least Detroit has a decent running game now and they are getting a little better defensively. That win against Philadelphia was great!

Fitz was on the cover before and was perfectly fine.....

Arizona made it to the playoffs the year he was on the cover, but he ended up getting a rib injury and missing the Pro Bowl. Also, he had the lowest yardage totals of his career that year.

Playoffs. Plus they were able to use all receivers, unlike it is now where Fitz is literally the only one capable of catching a ball....

Missing the pro-bowl is nothing, there is no point to it at all. Doesn't even happen during the season....A lot of players "fake" injuries to get out of doing it.
