The Gamecube: A Retrospective

GotGame: Codenamed “Dolphin,” the Gamecube had the distinct displeasure of being the follow-up to the Nintendo 64, a system that holds a dear space in many of our hearts, but also allowed Sony to become a viable console competitor by opting for a cartridge-based design instead of the PS1’s disc-based system. Releasing after the Sega Dreamcast, PS2, and almost simultaneously with the original Microsoft Xbox, it had a ton of competition. (Gamecube, Retro)

here's a retrospective: the GameCube is one of the greatest consoles of all time. if you never experienced what it was like at the time to have one them, well then you missed out on a great era of gaming.

The GC was a great console that was greatly overshadowed by the PS2's following and support.
It had a great selection of 1st party gen titles (better than the N64 I'd even say) and some awesome 3rd party exclusives.
