Halo 4 developer 343 Industries has moved to calm fan anger, after new legal guidelines appeared to be trying to stop fan-created videos and stories from featuring Microsoft games.
Haven't these guidelines existed since 2007?? I thought that some user just noticed them right now since Halo 4 is coming out and everyone decided to blow up against the rules, even though they've been around for 5 years. MS/343i even said that they turn a blind eye toward revenue generated by ordinary individuals on youtube, so long as it's not by a large company that has yet to ink a partnership with microsoft or machinima.
They don't want anyone coming up with better storylines than theirs.
well if they are the owners of the content, they can do what ever they want simple as that, and there nothing you or anyone else can do about it
edit: Sorry, I didn't insert the standard :) to indicate humor. I, personally, have no genuine cares on the subject.
Fanfiction being illegal? BOOOO I LOVE fanfiction.
You're going about it all wrong. That's not what they're doing here and have been doing for the past 5 years. They encourage fan fiction, machinimas, commentaries, etc. so long as large established companies don't take advantage of it without a proper contract. This doesn't affect ordinary youtube individuals.
N4G has blown this way out of proportion.
lol they even claim copy rigth on halowaypoint youtube Chanel http://www.youtube.com/watc...
Then what the hell am I supposed to put in a Halo 4 playthrough video title if I can't use the game's actual name? "Microsoft Can Suck a **** Playthrough Part 1" This stupid legal bullshit is getting on my nerves.
