With the European launch date of 30th November fast approaching, hype for Nintendo’s new console is picking up pace. Speculation on final tech specs, the quality of the gamepad, software lineup and the consoles other services is widespread, whilst pre orders are said to be doing very well indeed.
The Wii U’s “launch window” software list is huge, spanning fifty, that’s right, fifty titles that will be hitting the shelves between launch day and the end of March 2013. The worry for most is that several of the games are ports of existing PS3 and Xbox 360 titles whilst some sound like weak shovelware or temporary kids distractions. But there are also some real corkers on the list that deserve your attention and are a great reason to pick up a shiny new Nintendo on day one should your wallet allow.
I'm mostly looking forward to NSMBU and Nintendo Land, which to me seems more like a 'game collection' than a 'mini game collection'.
NSMBU will probably be a second due to Japan not buying enough of ZombiU and Mario being, well, Mario.
Unfortunately I won't be able to afford it as of now but I have had a change of heart. I think Nintendo is on the right track back.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Xenoblade Chronicles
The Last Story ( this and the one above are often put with Lost Odyssey on the 360 as the best console RPG's this generation)
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Mario Kart Wii
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Monster Hunter Tri
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
There's much more tho, those are just some off the top of my head
Now, Ninjabread Man, Party Babiez, Rapala Fishing, etc... THOSE are shovelware games. :P
