After Assassin’s Creed 3: 10 Historical Periods Ubisoft Should Visit Next

WC writes: The idea, for instance of a future set Assassin’s Creed in which a new protagonist takes on an almighty tyrannical empire in a Mad Max style burned post-apocalyptic world would be an appealing one, but it wouldn’t remain true to Ubisoft’s attempts to use history as their playground, and there’s very much the suggestion that too many fans would turn away from the idea. So too the idea of bringing in a more modern time period involving a large-scale open global conflict, because the reliance on technological advances and destructive ranged weaponry wouldn’t really fit the agenda of the game. (Assassin's Creed III, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

London during jack the ripper time that i wanna see

I agree that would be a good time period (probably industrial revolution would be better but at the end you can bring in Jack the ripper). On the England topic the King Arthur era would be great for the Mythology aspect of AC. Also French revolution would work very well with combining a AC story to it.

I think they should stay well clear of WW1/2 and the war on terror. The war on terror doesn't make any sense for a templar and assassins war (which this article has clearly missed in choosing the locations) and WW1 and 2 it could work but it has been done (and the idea of AC series was to go to eras never before visited)

They could maybe do ww1/ww2 for like the very last one. But I think 20th century is just a bit too recent.

Egypt or Victorian London.

Scottish/English war of independence. Plenty of fighting going on around there.

I also like feudal japan. But only if you get to use a katana.

Victorian England
Just look at the potential setting. There's nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world.

Russian Revolution
I would like to freerun around Moscow, St Petersburg and Siberia. Imagine climbing the Kremlin. Plus, the history is rich.

Acient Egypt
I would like to see Cairo and Alexandria re-created.

French Revolution
Imagine how funny it would be to see Napoleon.

Germanic Barbarian setting
It's never been done before and it's mysterious.

All 5 of the above are very interesting and very different settings.

* I would like to see them go back to the BC era....would be extremely difficult to pull off, but it could be awesome.

India , during the British invasion would also be nice.

now that could be very interesting

Given the direction they're going, I sense the Civil War would be the "brotherhood" version of ACIII.

Connor gets old, dies, political chaos ensues and Civil War occurs with Connor's grandson taking the reigns.

Afterward we'll be in Germany for the world wars and finally modern era.

okay feudal japan is probably the only good one there. However not as a samurai but as a shinobi (ninjas) and the setting should be during the time when the Europeans were coming over to japan. the area such as bamboo forests, massive forts and castles, the only issue would be trying to try and implement the templer assassins war i suppose you could have it as ninjas vs the samurai clash, honour, or samurai supplied by European firepower aka Templers who wish to get an alliance with a Japanese dayiamo. weapons no problem
- katanas
- naginta's

- bows and arrows
- spears

some flaws that may present themselves:
ninjas operate in the night and shadows, of course you can have daylight ninjas that use disguises and what not and Japanease themed hood assain apparel.

- not very large parkour type areas:
although there is castles and that during the time, building are usually kept low as previously seen however since this judgment has only 5% research applied i am most likely wrong.

story: the only story i think would make the most sense would the fact that the Templers and assassins have heard of another artefact relevant to their causes which is located somewhere in japan in which the assassins seek out help from the local ninja clan in which you a ninja recruit possibly sent by Ezio during assassins creed brotherhood or revelations which i think that the time periods as well as the technology avaible should be relevent.
