Forza Horizon review: into the sunset | The Verge

Horizon's accessibility gives way to a lack of foresight. Its open world feels empty, its economic model is questionable, and its armada of cars are powerless against arbitrary AI escalation. Forza Horizon has more flash than its predecessors, but it's hollow by comparison. 6/10

You always find that one low review vs almost perfect scores everywhere else. Great job The Verge. I wouldn't give the game anything less that an 8 but I'd prefer to give it a 9 based off the demo.

The demo is the game in short. Duh!! I know from the demo how some of the cars feel, how good the game looks both day and night, and what the races are like.

So yea I'd give it an 8 or 9 from how good the demo was. I know enough from it to get a good feel of the game.

Rating a demo is like rating a trailer. It's unreliable. Great games have bad demos, bad games have great demos. I simply think rating a chunk of a game without playing the full, finished product is amateurish. That's all.

Absolutely agree.
This guy obviously didn't understand that from the creation; This is not the typical Forza Game!

Also, based off the demo; Id give Forza Horizon a 9 or higher. I cant wait for this game. Ive driven every road in that demo & cant wait to drive as many as I can before the release of Halo 4.

Glad we have demos to discount authors like this.

I can see there point in some respect but I think they are being overly harsh for some reason, I would (based of the demo) have given it like an 8.5)

Meh...Played the demo, looks decent but car were sliding too much, reminded me of Ridge racer...
Never liked Forza games and i never trusted reviews...

Some site are giving it 5/5 another overrated Forza as usual.

I got WRC3 playing it right now and its fantastic great driving physics!

@ GTRcivic - you say you personally don't like forza games, THEN you say "it's another overrated forza as usual." How can you objectively say Forza is overrated if you personally don't care for it? You're using the word "Overrated" as a polite way to say "I don't like it". So that's YOUR opinion..Some people on here spew their opinion around like it's fact.

In my opinion, I'd rate the demo at 8.5 alone, and that's only about 3 cars and 5/6 events and some free roam time. Horizon doesn't feel like Forza but I think it's fun as hell and looks great. We'll see once I get my hands on this game.

You can't review a game from a demo because it's unfinished code!! Some people just don't like anything bad being said about their precious lumps of plastic and wires and will defend their honour like it's their child or something!! Do u have shares in Microsoft?

Um, isn't it best to wait until the product is finished first.

It's a demo, which by it's own definition is rather broad. So I'm pretty sure that what people have been playing isn't 'Done' yet.

Wait till the game is in retail, then talk!
