Retro City Rampage Review: Beg, Borrow, Steal | TheVerge

Chris Plante writes: Retro City Rampage asks the question: Can man survive on nostalgia alone? It’s a game with more pop culture references than a Family Guy marathon. The first 10-minutes are a thrilling, manic tour of yesteryear, with references nested within references, pulverizing your senses at an unsustainable rate. But nostalgia, as we gamers know especially, is a drug. The first hit's the strongest, and the remainder of Retro City Rampage is spent chasing that original high. (PC, PS Vita, PS3, Retro City Rampage, Wii, Xbox 360) 6/10

This game is way too good for a 6/10.

Ok back to playing more RCR.

Oh look, another review of what's clearly a Retro style game (its right in the title), but scored by today's standards. Yea, moving on.

This reviewer was probably still sucking his mother tits when 16-bit was king. Its the only way I can explain this review score. He simply has no idea or ability to know how awesome the game is or all the references to games the rest of us played as kids.

6/10? This game is the bomb. It's as hard as old 8-bit retro games and has amazing gameplay. It's a great game. Tons of fun.

The Metal Gear throwback mission with Major Lee Solid was hilarious.
